Read and accept
September meeting minutes.
Minutes accepted.
II.
Review of Old Business
No email to Marilyn on changing mission statement. Existing mission statement was accepted.
SSR – Charlene in touch with Lawn SIT chair.
Writing – SIT teacher representatives to go back to teams to discuss writing at
each grade level.
English Language Arts - Carrie has notes from meeting on how English Language
Arts are taught across the grades.
Review notes at next meeting.
III.
Safety Discussion
Discussed the process for evacuation, lock down. Research an intercom system.
BJ to raise issue to School Committee.
Possible options are Walkie-Talkies, Intercom System.
IV.
Spanish at Elementary
School Level
Michaela Onosko passed out a pamphlet on learning a second language. She would like to see K-8 Spanish language
program. Discussion on adding the
expansion of the language program into the Strategic Plan. Michaela to provide a survey for parents.
V.
Respect Guides Community
Respect Guides Community procedure was accepted.
VI.
Model Schools DVD
discussion.
Discussion about the cost for being part of this network. BJ to discuss cost and funding with School
Committee. Discussion to continue at
next meeting.
