Lawn Avenue Survey

            83 surveys were returned

Summary of forms were sorted and organized into a chart.

See attached.

Responses that were sent in were worked on in great detail by parents.

Some overall comments were the need for better communication with parents.

Up to date web page.

Biggest predictor of success is eating together at the dinner table.

New Business:  Mary Brennan has decided to complete her term on SIT committee.

         Discussion:

Political information should not go home in the backpack.

It was mentioned that a note to go home and tell people to vote is a public service note.  More discussion will follow at future meetings.

Other Issues:  Discipline:  What is being done for after school detention.  There needs to be detention in a room away from the area that is most entertaining (the office) while they are being disciplined.  We need to have a clear gradual plan of action to stop the discipline.

Idea from Individual:  Maybe there will be a Teacher Evaluation:  Kids evaluate teacher, parents evaluate teacher.  Of course, it depends on what questions are asked and how they are asked.

Also, if we ask for a survey to be filled in with the parents, we should use the data we receive.
