Girls' Basketball 2007

The 2006 - 2007 Lawn Avenue Girls' Basketball season proved to be one of rebuilding after the amazingly successful season the previous year. Led by 8th graders Jess Brown and Kellie Brown, the team enjoyed excellent leadership. Along with 8th graders Ashlin Gillis, Catherine Cabral, Channy Neale, Tory Delmonico and Katie Marquis, the team stayed close in many games. These student athletes have been part of the Lawn team, some for 3 years. Our hats are off to them for their fine achievement.

A wonderful highlight to this year's games was the thrilling home win against Martin Middle. The final score had Jamestown on top 45 - 28. Jess Brown had a team high of 20 points while Kelli Brown chipped in with 14.

Often missed in wins and losses is team growth. This team truly grew together as a unit. By the end of the season everyone knew what it was like to be a team. The team comfort level was extremely high; everyone felt they belonged, regardless ot their year in school. Being on this team has been an important part of the lives of these girls.

Many of the players on this year's team were 6th graders. The practice time for these players will be crucial for the success of future teams. In the next few years the players that barely saw playing time will be the future starters, making their school proud. Great job 6th & 7th graders!

The year, too, proved to be an emmotional one for the "soon to be graduating" 8th graders. They have been together for many years, and left their hearst and souls on the court. From the 8th graders... "Goodbye middle school basketball, hello high school ball." Good Luck ladies, much success in the future!

Team members included:

Jess Brown, Kellie Brown, Catherine Cabral, Ashlin Gillis, Channy Neale, Tory Delmonico, Katie Marquis, Sarah Smith, Nicole Perez, Kelsey Britto, Julia Thompson, Cara Liberati, Amina Brown, Talley Larkin, Catherine Norman and Olivia DiMauro.

Baseball 2007

The Lawn Avenue Baseball Team, under the guidance of newly acquired head coach Eric Bush,is currently conducting try outs for this year's team. Coach Bush has upgraded equipment, and has vbeen a force is improving the field condition this year. With the support of the Recreation Department, work is already underway improvbing the baselines, infield, and pitching mound.

Great things will happen to this year's program... Coach Bush, we are glad you are working with our student athletes.
