PRESCHOOL LANGUAGE AND MOVEMENT

This month the book will be Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea by Jan Peck. The activities will include acting out the book, looking for “ buried treasure” and making sea and sand pictures.  The hand rhyme is The Whale Song (see attached). Please practice the hand rhyme song with your child and ask him/her to tell you about the story.

The Whale Song

(Tune: “Pop Goes the Weasel”)

All around the ocean blue (hands up and out)

The whale swims night and day. (hands together/make a swimming motion)

He dives down low (diving motion with hands)

 

Then comes up for air (hands up)

 

Squirt goes the whale (jump as hands go up and out)
