PRESCHOOL LANGUAGE AND MOVEMENT LESSON

December 2007

By  Miss Terry, Miss Sharon and Miss Katy

This month the lessons will be based on the book Two Little Trains by Margaret Wise Brown.  The hand rhyme will be The Train (see below).  We will be talking about the parts of a train, different types of vehicles and categorizing objects during their individual therapy sessions.  Best of all, we will be making a train decorations which is always a favorite activity.  You can help carryover the language lessons learned in these activities by having your child tell you about the story and doing the hand rhyme together.  Also, you can play categorization games by listing vehicles, toys and foods.  “Who can name the most____!?”  Happy Holidays!!

THE TRAIN

(Extend one arm and run the index and middle fingers of the other hand down the arm.)

The train ran right back.
