KINDERGARTEN LANGUAGE WITH MOVEMENT LESSON

This month’s speech and language lessons will be based on the book Snowmen at Night  by Caralyn Buehner with pictures by Mark Buehner.  The song will be Snowman (see below).  We will be acting out the book, making a snowman picture and snowflakes and making “footprint” in the snow.   Please take time to join your child in one of the following activities:

  1. Ask your child to tell you about the story
  2. If and when the weather permits, play in the snow with your child.
  3. Talk about your child’s favorite activities in the snow.  Tell your child about your own adventures in the snow.

You know, if you live in a place where they don't have any snow at all,

You've probably never made a snowman.

Well, look at me. That's what I am.

And I'll tell you what you need to make a snowman.

Just repeat after me. Here we go!

Verse

Carrot nose, (carrot nose) warm hat, (warm hat)

Black eyes, (black eyes) very fat. (very fat)

Chorus

I'm a snowman. (snowman)

I'm a snowman.

I'm a snowman. (snowman)

I'm a snowman.

Verse

A big broom, (big broom) and a long scarf, (long scarf)

I got stick arms, (stick arms) but I've got a smiley mouth. (smiley mouth)

Chorus

I'm a snowman. (snowman)

I'm a snowman.

I'm a snowman. (snowman)

I'm a snowman.

Hey, now that you know what a snowman looks like, and what they're made out of.

You can go out and make one. Let's do it!

Chorus

Now go outside and make one!
