7th and 8th Grade Goals
Grading:There are 3
yearlong goals assessed each quarter.
1)
Application of Grammar and Vocabulary ( based primarily on tests, quizzes, and oral presentations)
2) Active Learner in working towards Language Competence
- Come to class on time and prepared with your book, a notebook, the
homework assignment, and a pen or a pencil.
- Come
to class with a positive attitude ready to participate in the class
activities each day.
- Be
a positive participant in class activities.
- Begin
to show an interest in, appreciate and understand the diversity of the
Spanish-speaking countries and their cultures.
- Compare
and contrast the Spanish language and the various Spanish-speaking
cultures and customs with oneās own language, culture and customs.
- Explore
how studying Spanish is related to other subject areas such as history,
math, science, language arts, music, and art.
- Show
evidence of becoming a lifelong learner by using the language for
personal enjoyment and enrichment.
3) Overall Communication Skills
- Engage
in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and
emotions, and exchange opinions, based on vocabulary and grammatical
patterns studied.
- Understand
and interpret written and spoken Spanish.
- Write
sentences and paragraphs using the vocabulary and grammatical patterns
studied.
- These skills are
demonstrated in a variety of class activities.
These
goals are based on the National Foreign Language Standards. Students will demonstrate understanding
through oral and written communication as well as listening and reading
comprehension.
