The Jamestown Rotary Club, the Jamestown Substance Abuse Task Force and The Jamestown Press are pleased to announce the third annual Will Reynolds essay and poster contest.
Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and professional people who provide humanitarian service, encourage all vocations and high ethical standards, and help build goodwill and peace throughout the world. An important part of Rotary's community service is the recognition of the need to hear every voice.
Will Reynolds was an exemplary Jamestown Rotarian in every aspect of his life. His life was a wonderful example of community values, education and service.
The Jamestown Rotary Club encourages all Jamestown students to demonstrate
their understanding of and commitment to community values by participating
in this third annual poster and essay contest to honor Mr. Reynolds.
A committee consisting of teachers, parents and representatives of the Jamestown Rotary Club and community will serve as judges for the contest. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity and overall presentation. Winners will be announced in April. All participants will be acknowleged and will receive a voucher for a free ice cream cone at the Newport Creamery. Winners in each grade will be presented with an award from Border's Books Store and, along with their parents and teachers, will be invited to a special awards dinner hosted by the Jamestown Rotary Club on May 17.
The Jamestown Rotary Club wish to express our gratitude to Borders Books at Garden City and to the Newport Creamery for their continued generous support by providing prizes and awards to our participants.
